Dr. Matthew Smith
DDS
Dr. Matthew Smith graduated from the University of Arizona with a bachelor’s degree in microbiology in 2010. He earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Iowa School of Dentistry in 2014. He is a dedicated general dentist and feels passionate about giving his patients the best care possible.
Dr. Matt grew up in small town Thatcher, Arizona where he learned about the importance of hard work, integrity, family and community. He and his wife and 4 children love hiking, camping, bike riding and swimming. They love beautiful southern Arizona and especially Oro Valley.

Dr. Matt is inspired by his dad, who was a phenomenal dentist when Dr. Matt was growing up. He was impressed with how deeply his father cared for each patient and was touched by the impact his father had on the people who received his care. His father served many dental missions all over Central America and the Polynesian islands, providing dentistry to people who did not have access to it. Dr. Matt has tried to follow in his father’s footsteps. He is grateful for dentistry and the experiences, relationships and friendships he has made because of it. He too has had the opportunity to participate in dental service missions in Guatemala, El Salvador, and Kenya. Helping other people is one of Dr. Matt’s favorite parts of dentistry.
Dr. Matt is always learning and pursuing the most current developments in dentistry. The oral health of his patients is top priority for him. Dr. Matt believes that feeling confident in your smile improves your quality of life in a drastic way. He is determined to provide his patients with healthy, beautiful smiles.
Justin L. Rider
DDS
Dr. Justin L. Rider obtained his Bachelor of Science degree at Southern Illinois University in Carbondale before receiving his dental degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago College of Dentistry. Prior to entering private practice, he served an advanced education in general dentistry residency at Sheppard Air Force Base in Texas and was also assigned to Davis-Monthan Air Force Base in Tucson for three years. In 2010, after completing an additional year of clinical and continuing education, Dr. Rider was recognized by the Air Force Specialty Code as an Advanced Clinical Dentist.

Dr. Rider’s postgraduate education provided him additional training in the areas of IV sedation, oral surgery, wisdom tooth extractions, dental implants, and orthodontics. This training allows him to provide his patients with more comprehensive treatment options in the comfort of their own dental office.
In his spare time, Dr. Rider is a volunteer and enjoys giving back to the community. He enjoys spending time outdoors while enjoying hiking, camping, swimming, and photography. Dr. Rider and his wife, Crystal, enjoy raising their young family in Tucson.
